Post 6: How Can Your Major Make the World a Better Place
In a previous post, I told you that I am a dental student. I think the world lacks information about how important dentists are and how important healthy teeth are to our life and health.
Dentistry can make the world a better place because having optimal oral health helps us to have a higher quality of life, as diseases such as periodontitis, gingivitis and even some types of cancers can be avoided. Therefore, it is essential that people can have quality access to oral health.
Dentistry is involved in various social and scientific fields, and its contributions help professionals to improve dental treatment techniques or the detection of oral diseases, thus benefiting the world's population. For me, it is a very special career that can make a person with healthy teeth feel dignified, self-confident and able to smile without embarrassment with friends.
In the future, I see myself working in research areas, as I want to contribute to the world with new knowledge both to treat diseases and to investigate the reasons why there are countries with little access to oral health and help them with humanitarian missions, thus contributing to improve people's quality of life.
Hi, I think the same as you, lack of more information about the impact of the dentist in the world.
ResponderBorrarI think you are very right Sinndy, there is too much information missing. I feel like people don't consider the true importance of dentistry.
